Introducing the B.R.A.V.E. Steps:
A Courageous Way to Stand Up to Bullying

At Valor the Lion, we believe that every child has the power to stand up, speak out, and support one another. That’s why we created the B.R.A.V.E. Steps, a simple, empowering five-step approach to help kids navigate bullying with confidence and compassion.

Whether you’re experiencing bullying, witnessing it, or supporting someone who is, the B.R.A.V.E. method gives you the tools to take action safely and smartly. It’s more than just a response, it’s a mindset built on courage, self-awareness, and kindness.

Breathe. Recognize. Assess. Voice. Engage.

Each letter represents a powerful choice that helps build emotional strength, restore confidence, and remind every young person: you are never alone.

Ready to be B.R.A.V.E. ?

B - Breath

Take a moment to pause, stay calm, and center yourself so you can think clearly and respond with confidence and control.

R - Recognize

Understand what’s happening, is it teasing, conflict, or bullying? Trust your feelings and know the signs so you can respond wisely.

A - Assess

Consider your options: Can you walk away? Speak up? Ask for help? Think about what’s safest and most effective in the moment.

V - Voice

Use your voice to stand up, speak out, or reach out. Whether you say “stop” or tell a trusted adult, your voice matters.

E - Engage

Talk to someone you trust and reflect on what happened. Getting support helps you feel stronger and take back your power.
